Mobile battery fitters near you

We'll come to the car after a quote, in London, Birmingham or Manchester. The phrase is about where the work happens: at your car. It is not a claim that someone is already around the corner. You ask first. We call the mobile number you type.

Two jobs sit under fitting. Supply and fit means we bring the correct battery, fit it, and take the old one. Customer-supplied fitting means you have already bought a battery and want it installed, but only if that battery matches the car. Both are agreed on the callback before the visit.

Supply and fit

On a supply-and-fit job the fitter arrives with the battery that was confirmed: flooded, EFB or AGM, the right case and terminals, and registration equipment when the car needs it. An AGM is replaced with AGM. An EFB may be upgraded to AGM. An AGM is not downgraded to save a step.

The old battery comes out, the tray is checked, the hold-down goes back, and running voltage is looked at. Charging voltage is often about 13.8 to 14.7V, with smart charging allowed to sit lower once the battery is reported full. The alternator is not treated as a bulk charger for a unit that has been ruined.

Fitting a battery you bought

A customer-supplied battery can be fitted when it is the right technology, capacity, cold cranking current, case size and terminal layout. Bring the label details into the quote: a photo of the end label is enough. If the battery is flooded and the car specifies AGM, it will not be fitted.

Polarity and venting matter. A battery with the posts the wrong way round, or an AGM swapped onto a car that has no AGM charge profile without registration, is refused rather than forced in. Say on the form that you are supplying the part, and keep the receipt details handy for the callback. We still need your mobile number on that form.

What the fitter needs on arrival

Keys, a parked car, and enough room to open the bonnet or boot. If the battery is under a seat, the fitter needs space to lift the trim without fighting a second car parked on top of the door. Shared drives and car park pillars are worth mentioning.

Live-lane vehicles are not a fitting job. Call 999 first. For every other parked car in the three cities, the next step is the quote form. We call you back. There is no depot address, because the work is done at the vehicle.

Questions before you send a quote

Is this the same as replacement near me?

Replacement near you is the supply-and-fit of a failed battery at the parked car. This page also covers fitting a correct battery you have already bought.

Will you fit any battery I bring?

Only if it matches the car. AGM is not downgraded. A flooded battery is not fitted to a car that specifies AGM.

Where do you fit?

At the vehicle in London, Birmingham and Manchester. The fitter comes to the car after the callback.

How does the quote work?

Type your mobile number on the form and say whether we are supplying the battery. We call you back.
